Global financial services group LuLu Financial Holdings (LFH) has announced a strategic partnership with fintech infrastructure provider Purpleplum to radically overhaul commercial banking and payment delivery for businesses across the United Arab Emirates. Under the terms of the new collaboration, Purpleplum’s advanced, core-agnostic orchestration platform will serve as the technological engine powering LuLu Money Business, which is LFH’s dedicated financial services proposition tailored specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises and large corporate entities.
The landmark partnership agreement brings together disparate banking rails, modern payment networks, and complex operational workflows into a single, cohesive interface. By unifying these crucial financial touchpoints, the initiative aims to eliminate the friction that companies typically encounter when managing cross-border transactions, treasury operations, and daily administrative tasks. The formal agreement was recently sealed in the presence of Adeeb Ahamed, Managing Director of LuLu Financial Holdings, alongside Purpleplum co-founders Kalyan Karteek Sadasivuni and Sai Sandeep Sadasivuni, marking a major milestone for both organizations as they seek to capture a larger share of the region’s burgeoning enterprise technology market.
Integrated Banking with Advanced Digital Capabilities
The initial rollout phase of this comprehensive initiative focuses on establishing a robust digital banking suite designed explicitly for the unique demands of small and medium-sized enterprises. Central to this deployment are dedicated digital business accounts issued in strategic partnership with ruya, a prominent Islamic digital bank that operates under the full license and regulatory supervision of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE). By integrating ruya’s Sharia-compliant digital banking framework with Purpleplum’s orchestration layer, LuLu Money Business delivers a seamless, ethical, and modern banking experience to local companies.
Through a unified application layer, LuLu Money Business successfully brings together multiple critical operational capabilities that previously required businesses to juggle multiple distinct software platforms and banking portals. This integration addresses a historically underserved segment that forms the undisputed backbone of the domestic UAE economy. According to official data released by the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism, small and medium-sized enterprises represent nearly 95 percent of all registered businesses operating within the country. Across an estimated 1.33 million registered SMEs, this vital sector generates an impressive 63 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product and sustains more than 85 percent of total private-sector employment.
Discussing the vision behind the launch, Adeeb Ahamed emphasized the core objective of simplifying day-to-day financial management for business owners. With LuLu Money Business, the focus remains squarely on making everyday financial services simpler, more connected, and significantly easier to manage for SMEs. Ahamed noted that by partnering with Purpleplum, the group is combining a modular, core-agnostic orchestration platform with existing institutional infrastructure to modernize how financial services are delivered. This approach is designed to unlock greater value from established financial rails, providing the flexibility required to introduce new capabilities over time, deepen long-term financial relationships with regional businesses, and continuously expand the scope of what LuLu Money Business can offer as corporate needs inevitably evolve.

Fintech Orchestration and Ambitious Regional Roadmaps
Purpleplum’s modular technology is built to enable financial institutions, payment service providers, and large enterprises to rapidly deploy advanced digital banking, Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS), and embedded finance solutions without the prohibitive cost and time of replacing their underlying legacy core systems. Demonstrating the scalability and reliability of the technology, the Purpleplum platform already supports an impressive 1.1 million active users and has successfully cleared more than 520 million transactions to date.
Kalyan Karteek Sadasivuni, co-founder and managing director of Purpleplum, highlighted the unique macroeconomic conditions currently shaping the region. He observed that the Middle East is rapidly redefining the future of digital banking, propelled forward by progressive regulatory frameworks, forward-thinking financial institutions, and an exceptionally strong market appetite for technological advancement. By combining AI-first banking infrastructure with a robust on-ground presence and a dedicated local team, Purpleplum aims to position itself as a long-term technology and infrastructure partner for regional banks, fintech startups, and major enterprises looking to build, launch, and scale modern financial products with unprecedented speed.
As part of its aggressive regional growth strategy, Purpleplum plans to establish the UAE as its primary operating base over the next 12 to 24 months. This expansion will focus heavily on forging new local partnerships and deploying AI-native workflows that span automated underwriting, specialized trade finance, and comprehensive corporate lending. For a global enterprise like LuLu Financial Holdings—which currently operates physical branches and digital channels across more than ten countries spanning the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, and the wider Asia-Pacific region—the underlying platform architecture has been engineered from the ground up for seamless international scalability.
Following the initial rollout in the UAE, LFH has outlined clear strategic plans to expand the LuLu Money Business proposition across the entire Gulf Cooperation Council region, as well as into India and key APAC markets. Future iterations of the platform are slated to incorporate sophisticated financial products, including working-capital lending, advanced trade financing, receivables management, and automated treasury services, cementing the partnership’s role in shaping the future of commercial financial services across multiple international jurisdictions.
